REHDA Melaka 1st MAPEX 2023 was held from 18 to 21 July 2023 at AEON Mall Bandaraya Melaka successfully. Lembaga Perumahan Melaka, PR1MA, 20 developers and Bank Islam took part in the 6 days exhibition to promote more than 3,700 units of various type of property with total sales value of RM1.42 billion.

REHDA Melaka was glad to have YB Datuk Rais Bin Datuk Wira Yasin the Melaka State Senior Executive Council (EXCO Kanan) of Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management who representing YAB Chief Minister of Melaka to deliver the opening speech and to officiate the opening ceremony held on 21 July 2023. Also present were YB Zulkiflee Bin Mohd Zin State Deputy EXCO of Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management, Datuk Shadan Bin Othman Mayor of Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah, Tn Salleh Bin Hamidom Executive Director of Lembaga Perumahan Melaka, Datuk Ng Choon Koon Branch Chairman, Datuk Ngoh Chun How Branch MAPEX Organizing Chairman and Branch Committees.

REHDA Melaka Committee Members led by Datuk Ng Choon Koon the Branch Chairman were delighted to pay a courtesy call on YB Datuk Rais Bin Datuk Wira Yasin Senior Member of the Melaka State Executive Council (EXCO) of Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management on 11 July 2023 at Seri Negeri Melaka.

Both parties deliberated on ideas and issues related to property and housing industry in Melaka for advancing the overall development of Melaka. REHDA Melaka also submitted appeal for the release of completed unsold Malay quota properties and appeal to on-hold and review the implementation of Development Charge on change of zoning, density, plot ratio based on gazette Rancangan Tempatan (rate: 15% of land increase value).

On 25 May 2023, the Melaka Branch of the Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association Malaysia (REHDA Melaka) organized a one-day study visit to Gamuda Cove in Bandar Gamuda Cove, Banting Selangor. This Gamuda Cove Study Visit was an enriching educational trip for REHDA Melaka members and state government officers. It provided a unique opportunity for our group of 48 participants to study Malaysia First 5-Diamond Low Carbon City - Gamuda Cove, developed by Gamuda Land.

We feel immensely privileged and fortunate to have gained new perspectives from this exclusive project. The comprehensive approach taken by Gamuda Land, encompassing energy, urban transport, water, waste management, urban planning, and green building, has inspired us to broaden our horizons and deepen our understanding, encouraging us to think beyond our current limits for the betterment of sustainable development of property and housing industry in Melaka.

8 May 2023 – REHDA Melaka paid a courtesy visit to the new Melaka Chief Minister YAB Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Bin Yusoh at his office, Seri Negeri to congratulate him as the 13th Chief Minister of Melaka. REHDA Melaka was delighted to be able to meet up with YAB Datuk Seri Ab Rauf despite of his busy schedules.

During the meeting, Datuk Ng Choon Koon, Chairman of REHDA Melaka, took the opportunity to provide a briefing to YAB Datuk Seri Ab Rauf regarding the roles and responsibilities of REHDA, as well as the prevailing housing development issues in the state. The Chairman's aim was to bring these matters to the attention of the Chief Minister and seek his support and guidance in addressing them.

YAB Datuk Seri Ab Rauf expressed his commitment to transforming Melaka into an investor and business-friendly state, positioning it as a preferred destination for potential investors. He emphasized the importance of fostering a conducive environment for investment and shared his ideas and advice on how developers could enhance their project development initiatives in Melaka.

Before concluding the meeting, YAB Datuk Seri Ab Rauf welcomed industry players for an open discussion session, encouraging the exchange of ideas and opinions for the betterment of Melaka. This inclusive approach aimed to involve all stakeholders and gather valuable input to drive positive changes and improvements in the state.

The visit by REHDA Melaka to the office of YAB Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Bin Yusoh served as a meaningful platform for dialogue and collaboration between the Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association Malaysia, Melaka and the state government. Such engagement fostered a closer relationship, allowing for effective communication and cooperation in addressing the housing development challenges and advancing the overall development of Melaka.

REHDA Melaka paid a courtesy call on the New Yang Dipertua of Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council (MPHTJ), Datin Sapiah Binti Haron at Hang Tuah Meeting Room in MPHTJ Office on 11 April 2023.  The objective of the visit was to establish closer rapport and cooperation between REHDA Melaka and MPHTJ while updating each other on the latest developments and industry issues. Sr. Hjh Rohaya Binti Abdullah, Secretary of MPHTJ chaired the meeting on behalf of YDP MPHTJ due to unforeseen circumstances.

Issues raised and discussed during the meeting include validity of Planning Permission (Kebenaran Merancang)/Building Plan/Road & Drainage Plan, time frame for OSC endorsement for submission of Form B, Form G & Form F, premium payment to be paid before Form B submission, application for road name/house numbering, development of car showroom and service center, clarification on “Permohonan Tanah Kerajaan”, restrictions on minimum lot size, min built-up area & etc imposed by PLANMalaysia@Melaka via state planning guide (GPP).

A delegation led by Mr Loh Chang Heng, Managing Director Retail & Enterprise Distribution Consumer Banking Malaysia of CIMB Bank had a courtesy visit with REHDA Melaka on 3 March 2023 at REHDA Melaka Office. The event was led by Datuk Ng Choon Koon Chairman of REHDA Melaka.

The visit provides both parties an avenue for exchanges of ideas to promote home ownership for Malaysians for the betterment of housing industry in Malaysia.
