REHDA Melaka recently paid a courtesy visit to Yang Dipertua Majlis Perbandaran Alor Gajah (MPAG), YBhg Datuk TPr Saifuddin b Abdul Karim, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement and collaboration with local authorities.

The delegation, led by REHDA Melaka Branch Chairperson Datuk Ngoh Chun How, was warmly welcomed by YBhg Datuk TPr Saifuddin together with senior MPAG officers.

During the meeting, Datuk Ngoh introduced the REHDA Melaka Committee Members for the 2026–2028 term and shared that the visit was aimed at fostering closer rapport, enhancing mutual understanding, and maintaining open communication between REHDA Melaka and MPAG.

YBhg Datuk TPr Saifuddin welcomed future development opportunities within the MPAG area while emphasizing the importance of sustainable development practices, including considerations on climate change, responsible land use planning, and the long-term impact of development growth.

The discussion also covered several industry-related matters, including the possibility of facilitating earlier house number applications for new developments, improving rubbish collection arrangements at newly completed housing areas, and encouraging greater consideration of innovative housing concepts while ensuring compliance with relevant state and federal guidelines.

REHDA Melaka also highlighted the importance of reviewing certain technical requirements, including underground utility provisions, to support efficient maintenance works and enhance practical implementation on the ground.

YBhg Datuk TPr Saifuddin further shared that MPAG continues to attract new investment opportunities, including international investments, and encouraged developers and investors to engage with MPAG’s Planning Department at an early stage.  The importance of appointing competent consultants and ensuring complete submission of required documents to facilitate smoother approval processes also being stressed.

The courtesy visit provided a meaningful platform for both parties to exchange views, address industry concerns, and strengthen cooperation towards supporting sustainable development and the growth of the housing industry in Alor Gajah.

The visit concluded at 3.25 pm with both parties reaffirming their commitment to continued collaboration and engagement.
